Sarah Fairlie - Co-Artistic Director

Sarah is Co-Artistic Director of Caterwaul Theatre (alongside Erin Fleck), which produces innovative and immersive storytelling in puppetry, and has created music video, live projections and puppet installations for various bands and events throughout Toronto (including Long Winter, Camp Wavelength, the SummerWorks Theatre Festival, Harbourfront Centre and Girls Art League).
Sarah was lead puppet designer and video art director for Caterwaul’s inaugural production of Unintentionally Depressing Children’s Tales, which premiered at the 2014 SummerWorks Theatre Festival to much acclaim, earning her an NTS Design Award. Sarah returned to SummerWorks in 2015 with the Music Series collaboration Heat Shuts Off Overnight with the band Germaphobes, and again in 2016 as part of the collaborative team for Georgina Beaty’s Extremophiles (Critic’s Pick, NOW Magazine).
Sarah designed and built the sets for 'Good, Pinsent, Keelor' at Glen Gould Studio and has created posters and installations for musical performances and parties throughout the city, the most recent being Death Mask projections for the Long Winter III’s Post-Apocalyptic Beach Rave. Sarah is the Co-Director of Small Talk, an interdisciplinary lecture series and a past member of the Hamilton Trading Co., an indie rock choir.
